Courses

IMPORTANT NOTE: All distances are given as the crow flies between the checkpoints. These figures are currently approximate pending the actual course setting. The average race time is given as an indication. It gives an indication of the average effort duration required per day to complete the course.

Hikers

  • The courses for hikers provide the pleasure of walking in the middle of nature, looking for orienteering flags with an orienteering map in hand... They are carried out in groups of 2 to 5 persons and without time registration, each to their own pace.
  • The course for families or beginners is easy, both technically and physically. The difficulty of the 2 other courses is medium: the checkpoints can be off-trail, but you can always follow some other element (stream, vegetation limit,...).
  •   Manual punching (control card).

Difficulty levels

Green course

The pleasure of easy hiking. Picturesque paths, viewpoints and beautiful passages but avoiding major difficulties (no steep climbs, nor technical passages in the rocks) and offering easy orientation (checkpoints always on the paths or in their immediate vicinity).

Blue course

The Blue course still offers easy orientation, but already requires knowledge of basic orienteering techniques. Checkpoints are close to paths or other clear guidelines (vegetation limits, streams,...). Depending on the distance and elevation, a minimum physical condition is required.

Red course

The red course offers fine orientation and requires a good knowledge of orienteering techniques. Checkpoints are off trails and other guidelines.

Black course

The Black courses are the most technically difficult courses. They are intended for adults who practice orienteering regularly, and who have a good physical and technical level. The checkpoints and route choices between them are far away from paths and other guidelines.
